The other
kind of running.

Home is in the countryside in County Sligo. My wife and I have a younger child and a grown-up child who’s a frontend developer. Plus two border collies and two cats.

Apparently, we grow software developers here.

Cats have always been part of my life. There were seven of them at one point; these days, two run the house. Most cats quite reasonably decline invitations to go for a walk. One of ours was the exception. We had to say goodbye to her when she became very ill.

Outside software, there’s running, cycling, walking, cooking, and baking. Walking is where most of the ideas turn up. The dogs make sure I keep doing it.
